When does Golden Invasion start?

Golden Invasion starts every day at 00:00 and 12:00 UTC and lasts one hour. Everyone follows the same event window. Check the in-game countdown to see when the next invasion starts or how long is left in the current one.

Two Goldens appear in each of the four worlds. Once you defeat one, it returns at the next invasion. Leaving and re-entering won't bring it back early. Any Goldens still alive disappear when the hour ends.

Where can you hunt them?

Hunt in a world you've unlocked: Wildwood from level 1, Sunscar Wastes from 26, Frosthold from 51 and Mega City from 101. Golden Invasion keeps the normal world requirements.

Use the event display to keep track of the time. Pick a world that suits your level and equipment, and come ready for a tough fight. Even Wildwood's Goldens are a serious step up from ordinary monsters.

How are Goldens different?

You'll recognize Goldens by their size and the gold shine over their normal colors. They have their own boss-style health bar and more health than the world's normal boss. Give yourself room to move and expect a longer fight.

You'll also meet Elites with names such as Frenzied, Brutal, Swift, Fiery, Frozen or Venomous. Their ground auras show those effects. Goldens follow the invasion timer and give the guaranteed fragment stack described below.

04

Prepare before the invasion begins

Check your weapon, offhand and suit before the event starts. Pick a world where you're comfortable fighting ordinary enemies, then prepare for something much tougher. Being able to enter a world doesn't mean your gear is ready for its Goldens.

Planning to use food? Check its effect and duration first. Look around the Golden before attacking so nearby enemies don't catch you off guard. Sort your gear and recipes beforehand to leave more of the event for the hunt.

Keep an eye on its health bar during the fight. If you're doing little damage, take your time with defensive actions and leave room to move. Watch the event timer too: joining late doesn't extend the invasion.

  1. Check the Golden Invasion countdown and choose an unlocked world.
  2. Equip your intended combat gear and review any food you plan to use.
  3. Find the Golden and inspect the surrounding enemies before approaching.
  4. Fight with room to move, then collect the ground drops before leaving.

05

What do Golden monsters drop?

Each Golden drops a guaranteed stack of three matching suit fragments, with better fragment rarity odds than ordinary monsters. You also get more kill XP than you would from an Elite. All three fragments in that stack belong to the same suit.

Pick up the drops, then check Character and the Suits tab. You need 12 matching fragments to craft a suit. Different kills can give fragments for different suits, so keep track of the one you're working toward.

Golden Seeds belong to Mastery and have their own recipes and trading rules. For this event, you're hunting Golden monsters for their XP, fragments and other drops.
